Engalaweni

Engalaweni presented us with a gift during our first visit in 2009 to thank us for bringing the Africa Bags project to their village.  Our gift, a live goat, became the Africa Bags pet.  Kuzi, the Mbuzi (goat in Timbuku) is living in Viweme Village with his goat wife raising many babies!

Engalaweni is unique in that they were already a group of experienced sewers.  Before we ever arrived the ladies of Engalaweni were using hand cranked treadle sewing machines.  Immediately, the ladies of Engalaweni were making the most beautiful cloth shopping bags!

We are currently creating a brand new "Africa Bag" that will be introduced to the Ladies of Engalaweni to begin producing immediately!. We are so excited for the arrival of this new Africa Bag!
