Covid-19 has now reached Malawi, Africa. The first cases of the 2019 coronavirus were officially reported on April 2nd, 2020. Malawi, the 6th poorest country in the world, due to limited access to resources, is not equipped to combat this pandemic. The rural villages of Malawi do not have access to clean water, soap, and basic health care. Physical distancing is not an option with millions living in extreme poverty. 18 million people live in a country the same size as the State of Pennsylvania. The country only has access to 25 ICU beds and less than 20 respirators.
This time of year, before the crops are harvested, most families can’t even afford a bar of soap. For a donation of only $10, we will supply one person in Malawi with a Face Mask hand crafted by the tailors of Africa Bags, a wash bucket with a spigot, and a bar of soap.
Donate $10 Today and TOGETHER we can help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in one of the most vulnerable countries on earth. Or PURCHASE a mask of your own and empower a vulnerable woman in Malawi!
