Little lesson #7: Transportation in Malawi 🚕 Transportation in Malawi is poorly developed. Only about 45% of its roads are paved, and other transportation options like airports and railroads are limited. Pictured here is an ox and cart, a practical way that Malawians transport themselves, food, and other goods. A large part of Africa Bags is contributing to community funds. These can be used to better different elements of various Malawi villages… including infrastructure like roads! #publictransport #infrastructure #road #poverty #ox #nonprofit #nonprofitorganization

Education is a gift 📚 Africa Bags is constantly working to assist Malawian children to have adequate access to educational resources such as books, supplies, and other classroom necessities. We have also recently installed bathrooms in several Malawian schools so that young women can still obtain an education during their menstrual cycle. Help us support education in Malawi by purchasing one of our handmade bags or pad kits, donating to the cause through www.africabags.org, or volunteering! 🎓🎒 #education #educationmatters #malawi #helpingchildren #helpingchildrensucceed #womenempowerment #menstruationmatters

🌲 🌳 🌱 🪴 This is a photo taken from our Greening Malawi Project ♥️ This project is part of Africa Bags Empowerment Project. We pay local farmers and village chiefs to plant and care for trees to help fight global warming and deforestation, both of which are very impactful to the Malawian economy and standard of living. Greening Malawi works to integrate sustainable knowledge of trees so that this project can become long term by partnering with local schools in rural villages to plant numerous types of trees. This incredible project creates fresh fruit for school children to eat when otherwise no food would be provided during school hours, targets the Malawi deforestation problem, and provides sustainable skills to Malawians so that they can both grow and maintain this project for many years to come. Help us fight for Malawi by donating to this cause by visiting our website and going to the “Greening Malawi” tab under the “How Can You Help” tab on the home page.
