Around the world, women take on a disproportionate burden of global poverty. This is why Africa Bags celebrates women like Dorothy from Kamweko Village, whose hard work is helping to break her and her family from the cycle of poverty. Dorothy began working for Africa Bags in 2007. While Dorothy’s husband was unable to provide for their family, Dorothy saved her money and was able to buy a metal roof for their home and to pay for her children’s education. Dorothy is now the head tailor for Africa Bags, leading the design of novel products and training of new members. #WomensHistoryMonth #CelebrateWomen #FemaleEmpowerment AfricaBags.org
