Hello friends, supporters, and curious hearts!
As I begin this blog, I find myself reflecting on a single, simple question that changed my life: What can I do to give back? That question sparked something powerful—and nearly two decades later, it continues to fuel everything we do through Africa Bags and our family of projects in Malawi.
When I first traveled to Malawi, I was struck by both the beauty of the country and the resilience of its people. But I was also moved by the overwhelming need. What began as a humble sewing project—training local women to create reusable, handmade bags—has since grown into a network of initiatives spanning education, women and youth empowerment, technology, reforestation, and sustainable agriculture. Every visit to Malawi opens my eyes to more possibilities and deepens my commitment to walk this path alongside the incredible communities we serve.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes stories, updates from the ground, and personal reflections from our team and the people whose lives inspire us every day. I want this blog to be a window into the heart of our work—the joy, the challenges, and the hope that connects us all.
Whether you’ve been part of this journey since day one or are just discovering us now, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
Until next time,
With gratitude and hope,
Holly
